Ping to read later
“Not really; who gives a Fig ...”
You sure are posting a WHOLE LOT on a thread you say you don’t “give a fig” about.
You guys have some work to do on the image thing.
Apparently, you do have an opinion.
Pinging you. Any objection to the “divisiveness” inherent in the posting of this thread? If not, why not?
Yes, Magisterium, I see your point. People with glass houses should not throw stones. There’s as much perversion in all religions as these posters seem to imply about the catholic church. I will concede that the catholic church, on its surface, does not condone homosexuality. All churches have problems with sexual conduct. Those progressive churches that want to embrace homosexuality need to read the Bible more. I also hate the word progressive when referring to religious things, it opens the door to true evil.
Overall, the article was a good one. One thing you have to understand about me though, I don’t attend any particular church. I grew up in a lutheran church, what an eye opener for my parents. When I was in the seventh grade we started attending a conservative baptist church. Then we moved to n. ca. and my dad had us start going to a non-denominational church, that later chartered to foursquare gospel church. This church was a defining moment in my christian life. I’d never been burned so bad by a church in my life. It made me bitter for many many years, so bad I quit attending church. So I’ve had quite a few different viewpoints of christianity. Now I read the Bible and study it more than ever in my life.
The biggest thing that the catholic church has going for it is staying consistent on certain moral issues. It pains me to see any church veer off the course Christ wants us to take. Not all of the catholic church is right, but neither is the protestant or methodist or evangelicals. But we do agree that Christ died for our sins, and only He can save us, and that’s where we should be concentrating our efforts on, this would bring unity to Christs’ Church. We’re supposed to be going into the world and preaching the good news. Being we are all individuals, we are learning at different levels as far as the Bible goes. I don’t know why some people have to be less than civil when approaching someone with a different belief system, all I can say is people will be people, no matter what their religious persuasion. Just stay strong and keep your eyes on Jesus, you can’t go wrong.
