Catholic League Takes Lead Against 'YouTube' Desecrations of the Eucharist

The YouTube controversy involving Hate Speech against Catholics continues with the the apparent reposting of sacriligious, blasphemous videos of a student desecrating the Blessed Sacrament. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines sacrilege with these words:

"2120 Sacrilege consists in profaning or treating unworthily the sacraments and other liturgical actions, as well as persons, things, or places consecrated to God. Sacrilege is a grave sin especially when committed against the Eucharist, for in this sacrament the true Body of Christ is made substantially present for us."

The Catholic League is the nation's largest Catholic civil rights organization. The Catholic League defends the right of Catholics – lay and clergy alike – to participate in American public life without defamation or discrimination. It is led by a modern day warrior for the Catholic faith, Bill Donohue. Once again, the Catholic League has taken the lead in defending the Church, sending this recent letter to YouTube in their continued defense of the Catholic Faith and the Catholic Church:

I want to see them flushing pages of the Koran down the toilet and drawing pictures of Mahomet.

I mean, if you’re going to promote religious irreverance as “art”, go for it!

I’m not Catholic but I would feel the same way if some-one took the bread and wine from the celebrations our church holds monthly, and desecrate them in the same way. Catholic
or Protestant, it is a desecration of the body and blood of Jesus Christ and the Bible warns against the misuse of these
elements!

YouTube polices itself and does a very bad job of it.

Check out the FR Smackdown thread. If anyone wants to get anywhere with YouTube, one MUST do it by flagging the videos. Over and over.

Joe Liberman came out stating that YouTube is hosting terrorist videos against US law. He got no where with his complaints. We took over.

Catholics need to too.

Thanx for ping, milford.

I did a thread about it, with a petition, and some FReepers said they would sign the petition.

I also contacted my e-mail family/friend about signing the petition.

Here’s my thread with the petition:

As a Catholic, frankly, I have better things to do than waste my time with this punk. The more we protest, the more attention he gets. I say, ignore him. He will get what is coming to him.

May God have mercy on this kid's soul. He has no idea what he is doing. He is filled with hate and anger, you can see quite clearly from the video. It sucks to be him.

If it were him alone, no problem. But he is not alone. Public idiots like Bill Maher think this sort of thing is funny.

Bill Maher is capitalizing on the atheist fundamentalist fad. It is a fad, and like all fads, it will fade. The more attention it gets, the more fuel is added to the fire.

This hate needs to be met head-on with sober reason. They want to make the religious react in a way that appears to conform to their straw men. Don't react with emotion, react with cool reason and dismantle their flimsy anti-religious tirades calmly, deliberately and with confidence of the full protection of the armor of the Lord.

Consider Richard Dawkins. The guy is an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to theology. He's got no training in it. Several books have already been written that completely discredit his arguments. Even fellow atheists think he is an attention-grabbing moron. And compared to Maher, Dawkins is almost credible.

That's my humble opinion. God bless.

P.S. Personally, I would love to debate these people in a very public forum. Easy pickins.

P.S. I don’t think the kid in the YouTube videos is even using consecrated hosts. Watch the editing in the video where he supposedly goes to Mass and is watching from the balcony. There is no film of him actually going up to receive the Host.

I hope you are right, but fear you are not. Our inteiigensia are leaning in the same direction as the French a hundred years ago. Almost exactly a hundred years go, the most secular government since the French Revolution was elected and they established the solid wall between Church and State that is now the norm in that country. Our academics think more like Frenchmen than our founding fathers. Even the deists among them believed as Jefferson did that Christian morality was the best in human history. So he did not mind sitting in on sunday school classes held in the national capitol ( it served as a sort of Kennedy center in those days). But today so many intellectuals are agnostics who don’t think much of Christian morality.

I don't think the kids are responding to the academics. They are responding to 9/11, which they believe was a product of fundamentalist hate. They are right. But the problem is their overgeneralization to all religious systems of belief.

The answer is not atheism nor fundamentalist, but faith informed by reason. The fundamentalist atheists cannot comprehend the latter possibility, which is why their arguments do not stack up. The kids who fall for people like Maher and Dawkins have good intent, and if they are indeed sincere, they will find the Truth eventually. I really believe so. I really do, because I was one of them.

P.S. I do believe most youngster see through the b.s. of the useful idiots in academia. Yes, the academics were for a long time Francofiles, but that is a fad that is fading very quickly. You don’t hear much French deconstruction on campus anymore. It’s kind of a joke anymore.

Yes, but we are in danger of getting a President who is steeped in this attitude. His religioius views—if we could get them—would reveal the “relativism” that the ppe has so often spoken of as characteristic of Europe. His political views are socialist, and secularism is part and parcel of socialism.
Look how they loved in Berlin—Berlin where much of the population still longs for the slavery of “socialism”

Obama is not on the verge of the Presidency because of his socialism. It’s because the MSM has helped to hide it. If the American sheeple knew better, McCain would be in much better shape by now. He needs to get his act together, because time is running short.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap.

Galatian 6:7-8

I will pray that God in his mercy doesn’t strike this boy dead and send him to hell before he has the chance to convert, confess and do penance for his sacrilege.

The point is that this socialist is on the verge of winning the presidency. Of course the MSM is helping him conceal this fact. Their beau ideal is also European style social democracy. One problem is that right now what Obama is saying is not much different from what McCain is saying. His mantra is “the middle class,” as if his tax policies donit inevidably hit the real middle class, the families earning between $50-100 thousand. a year
