In my opinion after studying prophecy, if Obama wins we may be very close to the end times. God has always made sure Israel is protected, all of our POTUS’s so far have done this—but Obama is no friend to Israel. If Obama is part of God’s end time prohecy than I believe he will win, but if it is not time, we will see McCain as POTUS. I know that there will be someone that is a deceiver that appears before the antichrist and we all must admit that Obama is a flat out liar and deceiver. It truly is in God’s hands as Sarah said last week. This is definitely GOOD vs EVIL.
One can disobey and accept the consequences of that disobedience. You are trying to make them one thing when they are not.
Jesus accepted the authority of Pilate yet refused to answer his question. The disciples in Acts 5 accepted the authority to be flogged but obeyed God. Daniel accepted the authority of the King by not worshiping idols but obeyed God.
You can insist that authority is obedience but they are not equivalent. If they were we would have no need for both words.
See 42
Star Traveler said — “Its not in our hands to be responsible for that but only to be responsible to God for our individual actions ...”
AmericaUnited said — “That’s just flat out not correct. All those who did nothing would be held accountable and would be responsible.”
Hmmm..., you don’t read very well. I would imagine that you might not hear very well, either, when discussing these things with others.
What was the — “that” — which you’re referring to...??
Let’s see what I said — “God may have the U.S. fall as a nation and also disappear. You or I dont really know about that.”
AND..., once again, you or I are *not responsible* for the rise or fall of a nation, as that’s in God’s hands.
I’ll simply finish off, once again by saying the very simple...
Vote for candidates that promote Gods righteousness on earth (if you can find any) and do *not* vote for those who do *not* promote Gods righteousness on this earth. I would say that should be a Christians duty.
Do that, and the God of Peace shall be with you..., and the outcome of our nation shall be in God’s hands.
Either we as a nation no longer exist, or we have a government that wants to destroy Israel,(our State department already doesn't want Israel to survive). Maybe you have noticed. It is the Christians that support her. Or we have been taken over by Islam.
All unimaginable.
You don't comprehend very well do you? If "you and I" are citizens of a nation, AND and what "we do" determines whether God makes our nation "rise or fall", THEN YES WE ARE RESPONSIBLE. This is not rocket science or deep theology.
If Christians follow those two scriptures Obomba will not be elected.
LOL! Sorry. Should have left your name off.
Thank you for the comments..
Every government is put into place by God. We have been granted the extreme luxury of voting for our government, but sad to say, our government has not been faithful to God nor have Christians been faithful to their calling. If so we would NEVER have tolerated abortion, homosexuality, etc. in the church much less than in society. It is the Christian responsibility to vote and vote responsibly. But if we cannot be faithful to God's calling, do we expect His blessings? I strongly believe that we need to repent of our lack of fortitude and challenge these issues in a spirit of love. What we are seeing today is a lack of Christians in earnest prayer. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
But here is the source of comfort; when we are faithless, God remains faithful. God works everything for our good according to His purpose. That may mean we will undergo persecution to strengthen us for our good. The person who wins this election will win it according to the will of God-no other reason. But God will use it for our greater good.
I believe that God is all powerful and is in control of everything. God doesn’t need us to chose a president for His will to come about. I also believe that our purpose on earth is to accept Jesus as Lord, worship God, and bring others to Christ. Nations come and nations go.

Sorry, I have nothing to do with the rise or fall of the United States. I’m only responsible for my individual actions. But, if you say you’re the one who is responsible for the rise or fall of the United States (or even a “group” of “you”), then I say you’re going to have a beef with God about that one, because He’s the one who controls the destiny of nations (I believe the founding fathers also recognized that simple idea, too).
Again, I don’t have any responsibility for the nation. I won’t be judged by God for something that happens to the nation. However, God will have something to say to me about something that I did have responsibility for.
Once again...

If you can’t grasp the simplicity of that (for the individual) and the greatness of God in His control over the nations of the world (and whether they stand or fall) — then there’s not too much more I can say about it...
For the response we are to make; as well as supporting God's authority regarding the authorities that be. I want to memorize these beautiful scriptures. It is getting harder for me to memorize all the time.

Amen to that...
Yes, He can sovereignly do anything, but that’s not how He has set things up down here on earth. God gave dominion over the earth to man. Sowing and reaping, consequences, etc. Some fall into this fatalistic, mindless robot mentality. “Oh well, God’s got everything in control so I don’t have to do my part...”
See above.
I guess if you believe that God just randomly judges nations regardless of what their citizens do then you are right. But to me that's very weird and has no historical basis in scripture.
I suspect you’re using the same materials I did today...my point was that God doesn’t anoint our leaders. God specifically picked Saul to lead Israel. If any Prophet anointed Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, GWB or (GAG! Obama) - I haven’t heard about it.
Some said that since God is sovereign, we need to respect anyone He ‘installs’ in office. I asked if I needed to respect a rapist, since God permitted that to happen.
That went over like a turd in a punchbowl!
Don't know how many remember that when Billy Graham was invited to preach in Moscow in 1982, it was the height of the Cold War and everyone went nuts over what Billy would preach. Almost everyone presumed he would preach a sermon on the evils of Communism and then suggest the people overthrow the USSR Government.
Instead, Billy's 1st sermon was on Romans 13....”Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities.”
When this was reported in the US, people thought Billy had sold out....that the pressure from the USSR Commies had gotten to Billy.
Instead, look what happen. The USSR imploded 5 years later.....AND GOD DID IT!
We don't need Billy Graham nor anyone else to control things. If Obama is elected, God will take care of things.
And even Saul was not what God wanted, but he gave the people what they wanted. So much for the “we’re all mindless robots and have no say, no effect crowd...”
