Sure it was a bad night, and times are going to be tough, but let’s don’t forget:
Rom:8:28:
“...that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. (KJV)
Do not use potty language - or references to potty language - on the Religion Forum.
Raise that issue with Bill Keller.
“Barabbas means son of shame”
hmmm...I thought it meant “son of the father”
God isn't. His creation, however, is and as such sometimes demands things He knows will be to their detriment. Since He made us with a free will and not as automatons, sometimes we insist on going down a path of destruction. He lovingly warns us through His Holy Word and the Holy Spirit of the consequences if we insist on taking that path of destruction, but He won't prevent us from harming ourselves if we go ahead and do it anyway despite His warning. In the end, we have no one to blame but ourselves and our pride. God is not at fault for harm we do to ourselves.
Then, logically speaking, you agree with my original statement. You certainly just contradicted the original post that started this thread.
>:-) LOL
Not in the least. God tells us the consequences for disobeying Him will be that we will no longer be under His protection, we do it anyway despite His warning, then we find out He no longer protects us from the consequences of our rebellious actions against Him. He's not to blame. We walked away from His protection. He did not chase after us to continue to force His protection on us, ergo, His protection withdrew from us as we left it.

You are correct and all believers need to put on the “full armor of God.”
I wasn’t actually counting. I was refering to the conversation with Abraham and the Lord.
Now drunk with power, the misguided will reveal themselves, and many more of the issues-ignorant will wake up.
He isn't being silly, he's being realistic.
I'm 71, and as of this morning I have lived to see the end of the once great America in which I was born and raised, and the beginning of a counterfeit version of America that I can't even recognize as the nation in which I was raised.
The young Americans who registered and voted for the first time specifically to elect Obama are an entirely different breed than the Americans of my generation and those who preceded us. The best young men and women of this present young generation were fighting Islamic terrorism on foreign soil even as their civilian contemporaries were electing an Islamic president, a man who I believe is more an enemy of those fighting men and women than a friend.
God is not a kid in a cap on the other end of the speaker at a McDonald's drive-thru. He answers in His way at His time, which is not necessarily our time. Christ said,
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
I was born in 1972. My mom has been saying this EXACT same thing for years now and I believe it to be true as well. Roe V Wade started the downfall of this country.
Thanks for the post.
So despite the wisdom from Christ, there isn’t much good cheer among Christians.
God will not give us anything greater than we can handle. This is a wakeup call. We were startled awake by 9-11. We fell back asleep. This is our call to not fall asleep again!
"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances." (I Thes. 5:16)
Of course, those words are hard to take to heart right now--yet this was the very same verse Betsie ten Boom reminded her sister Corrie of when they came to the concentration camp at Ravensbruck. They discovered fleas in the blankets of the beds they were to sleep in, and Betsie said they must rejoice IN THE LORD, and be thankful--in ALL circumstances.
Corrie was incredulous that her sister might actually want to thank God for the fleas--but it was those same fleas that kept the guards away from the building, enabling her and Betsie to have a gathering of women each evening for a study of God's word.
And as THE HIDING PLACE so clearly illustrates, the Light of the World often shines most brightly in the places of greatest darkness.
May God keep all of us who love the Light of the World filled with the "oil" of His Holy Spirit, so that we can shine even in great darkness, and:
"Live as children of the light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.." (Eph. 5:8)
Lord--in your mercy, hear our prayer!
