***How could you be gay and Catholic at the same time? Are Catholics now brainwashed about gays, too?***

Only certain Baby Boomers still living in the fairytale years made up after the misunderstandings of some laity and clergy of Vatican II and their students could be called brainwashed in this regard.

Some anthropologists have said that primitive peoples do not follow the law of noncontradiction. Boomer Catholics like their non-Catholic peers are in awe of what they regard as Indian spirituality—most of which has been “corrupted” by Christianity. Their form of Christianity is a pastiche of contradictory elements and they are so ignorant of traditional Catholicism that they don’t know it. To be sure, the rigid American Catholicism of the ‘50s, which encrusted the vital core, and which even men like the Holy Father found unappealing, did not prepare them for the realities of an every less religious world. So when John XXIII threw open the windows, the people within were ill-prepared for the stormy blast.
