Children's Christmas Gifts - "My Mass Kit" (Catholic Caucus)
Wee Believers ^

Posted on 11/28/2008 7:28:03 AM PST by NYer

My Mass Kit is the flagship product in the Wee Believers™ Catholic toy line.  This innovative, educational and entertaining soft-sculpture toy is aimed at play for boys ages 3-12.  Children will enjoy “playing Mass” using this kit as a part of their playtime activities at home or at school, and in environments such as a church sanctuary where busy-child activity requires solemn attendance.

My Mass Kit includes most items used during Holy Mass to assist in a child’s first-hand interaction with the sacramental pieces used by the priest in the Sacred Liturgy.  Also included in the kit is an ecclesiastically-approved instructional booklet to educate and foster better faith communication between adults and children. My Mass Kit is an excellent tool for catechists and faith-formation teachers, as well as parents, grandparents and godparents.

My Mass Kit includes twelve plush, cleanable pieces and detailed instructional booklet contained in a durable, canvas case.

Pieces include: Crucifix, Chalice, Thurible, Finger Bowl, Purificator, 2 Cruets, 2 Candles, Paten, cloth Corporal, and foam Hosts

800, wow! We have about 12! This is a rural area with a median age of 62 and a very low percentage of Catholics in the population (Oregon, the “most un-churched state”). Hard for me to imagine a parish as large as yours.

Your priest was quite generous. I would have told the man he could start by acknowledging the error to his CONSTITUENTS, how about a press release, statement of apology for voting to kill babies....deathbed confessions I’m sure are heartfelt and sincere, but when a man has chosen a life as a public servant, with the public trust, let him finish his life as a public servant.

I used a darling picture from another diocese for our Prayers for Vocations. We pass out a cross at each Mass and a parishioner takes home the cross and the prayers (or chooses some of his/her liking) and prays for onr week and then returns it for the next person the next week.

We have done it at three Masses for three months. Just think of all those prayers for vocations!

What did you play as a young boy?

Several priests have shared that they “played” Mass as a boy. Why question a simple thing?

Sacrament of the Annointing of the Sick

Yes, they do. And there are sometimes deathbed conversions when the priests administers the Sacraments of
Baptism
Eucharist
Condiemation
and Annointing of the Sick.

Our priest performed a fifth Sacrament for a dying man — a marriage to his lady friend of many years. (They were long term members of the parish in good standing.)
