Do Angels Exist? (A miracle and a picture have many asking this question)
WBTV ^ | Dec 20, 2008

Posted on 12/20/2008 8:30:10 PM PST by Between the Lines

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A "miracle" at one local hospital has a lot of people talking.

This picture was taken in the hallway leading into Presbyterian's Pediatric Cancer center.

A little girl there was taken off life support, her mother in her room praying. At the same time, a nurse noticed a man standing in the hallway. When she pushed the security button to let him in, no one was there.

According to a nurse, this happened several times -- seeing him behind the doors, then he would vanish.

Someone thought he had wings, so they took the picture (on the right) of the security camera.

The girl is home tonight, recovering. Her birthday is Christmas Day.

So what do you think? Is this an angel caught on tape?

Have any of you ever read the novel by Frank Peretti, “This Present Darkness”? Peretti is a Christian writer and the story is about the spiritual fight between the forces of good and evil (angels and demons) that is going on all around us, and it just may change the way you look at the world and what is happening and the way you pray and ask God to intervene. Not only is it a good read, but the message is powerful as well.

The best angel stories are from the missionaries stationed overseas. I heard one about a family in India being attacked by natives who suddenly stopped and ran in fear for their lives.

The chief I believe eventually converted and the missionary asked him about that nite. The chief said ‘didn’t you see those 8 foot tall men filled with bright light and long swords standing in a circle around you?’

Tell Debbie that even if Matt was dreaming his experience was real.

God does love us and at times when the heart is crushed and the agony is so very deep he does send us a comforter with a message.

Thanks for posting this.

[”They WANT to believe their fantasies.”

A very poor character study. The report from the eyewitness testifies they intended for the person to walk through the doors, so they opened them for the person, on repetitive occasions, then wanted to believe the person didn’t exist when they turned around and didn’t see the person.

On both occasions, when they WANTED to see the person, they couldn’t, and then when they WANTED to not see the person, they saw the person.

Do you always look for conspiracy theories?]

I was NOT referring to people in the story, but to people here on this site who claim the picture of a blurry blob of light is an angel. They see an angel because they WANT to see one.

Sure, an angel could have been there, I just don’t believe that is a picture of an angel. The fantasy is turning a reflection or a blob of light into something it is not.

In all encounters with angels in the scriptures, they all appeared as men, without wings... I don't know any men that look like lightning.

The picture doesn’t say anything but the people do, quite a few of them and a child that had been taken off of life supports to die recovered, who needs a picture anyway?

2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.

All you need to do is change one word and you create a whole new theology...God warns about changing words in His Scripture...

Mat 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

The angel is not just any angel...Not just AN angel...It is THE angel...And you can bet a better description of Him in the book of Revelation...

He’s a simple man with his share of human flaws but his love for me is exceedingly great.

I believe that God looks past who we are or what we do and sees what’s in our hearts.

A long time ago, my emotionally reticent and totally “non-mushy” dad once said to me, “If you die, I die”.

He’s not one for sentimental declarations of love but I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more powerful one.

Most kids had movie stars and such for heroes...mine was always just my dad.

In truth, I hope he lives forever because I don’t know if I could stand a world without him.

Are you familiar with the comic strip “Rose Is Rose”?

The little boy, Pasquale has a guardian angel.

He exasperates and frustrates his angel something terrible, yet the angel [who usually just appears as a winged version of Pasquale] sometimes shows his true self; a giant, shield, sword-wielding warrior.

That always makes me smile....:)

You can read it online here;

http://comics.com/rose_is_rose/

The angel pops up frequently so you’re very likely to find a strip featuring him.

As far as the horse goes, I don’t blame him.
He was young stallion who got spooked by my aunt slamming a door and he bolted sideways, knocking me down and running over me.

He was really a nice horse who just “had an exceptional moment”.

Truth be told, as hard as it’s been these past 27 years, I do think that if it *hadn’t* happened, I would not be the person I am, today.

Paradoxically, my accident caused me to have a *much* greater empathy to the suffering of animals [and all living things, really] and consequently, I’ve spent my life from then to now doing whatever I can rescue those I can.

I doubt I’d have been doing that, otherwise.

[”Mysterious ways” and all’a that]....:)

I believe angels exist, but I don’t believe that is a picture of one. Looks more like a reflection of some kind. Also note the reflective rectangle to the lower left and the faint trail of lights receding off into the background.

Angels exist, but that ain’t one.
