The Feast of the Holy Innocents or Childermas is repressed due to the Sunday liturgies.

Please ping your pro-life lists to pray for the ongoing slaughter of Holy Innocents through the practices of abortion.

There are reasons why we so often hear instrumental versions of the haunting tune to The Coventry Carol. It is named after the city of Coventry, England, where the 16th Century Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors depicted Herod's slaughter of the innocents, told in the lyrics.

1. Lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
By, by, lully, lullay.
Lullay, Thou little tiny Child.
By, by, lully, lullay.

2. O sisters, too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day;
This poor Youngling for whom we sing,
By, by, lully, lullay.

3. Herod the King, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day;
His men of might, in his own sight,
All children young, to slay.

4. Then woe is me, poor Child, for Thee
, And ever mourn and say;
For Thy parting, nor say nor sing,
By, by, lully, lullay.
