Two key items showed up on the Diocese of Scranton's 2009 page for Press Releases, both with today's date of February 26, 2009: 1) A 2nd letter sent to Senator Bob Casey from Bishop Martino and, 2) An Official Notice on worthy reception of Holy Communion which states that "all ministers of Holy Communion, ordinary and extraordinary" are to deny Communion to those whose worthiness to receive Holy Communion is publicly known.

WoW!
I’ll be talking to Chaput on Sunday and I’ll give him a copy of both and see what his reaction is. I’ll ask him if he’ll publicly echo Martino’s statements.
Excellent ... I’ll offer a prayer for you and Abp Chaput.
Yay!
Let the squeezing begin. I stated when Nancy Pelosi was admonished by the Pope last week, that it was the beginning of the end for Wishy Washy CINO politcians. They would start to hear from their bishops soon after. Pope Benedict gave them the courage to be Catholic again.
Support these men as they start the long hard squeeze on these politicians, and pray that they will no longer be allowed to use their faith as cover to convince the masses that its ok to be for murdering babies and catholic. The cafeteria is closed........ THANK YOU BISHOP!!
Is Gillibrand catholic? I forgot to check.
What diocese is she in?
I would guess the Albany Diocese....
IS gillibrand from there?
and is she Catholic? I am having trouble googling that....thanks
I’m sure her bishop is right on top of it! (LOL)
just found it.........gilli is a pro-abort Catholic, but I suspect her Bishop will do nothing.
Judging by the debate clip I saw, he’s a pretty dim bulb. How did he get out of high school?
Martino is a good man - too bad there aren’t more of him.
That’s my Bishop.
I’m so proud of him, calling out Casey for his hypocrisy!
from the looks of things the Syracuse Bishop is all right. all the churches in the triple cities are conservative....at least the ones I have been to....St. Ambrose even has twice daily confession...before both daily masses....and their church fills up during a week day mass....on Ash Wednesday at St. Mary’s there was not even any standing room left....it was amazing for a week day mass. filled to the rafters.
yes - he appears to be a good egg.
He comes to the area every year for their pro-life march and prays outside the abortion clinic.
hmm, I may have to join him next time.
every now and then he misses for illness or weather - but is pretty reliable when it comes to that event.
Amen.
