I’m not a fan of this guy, but this is clearly a hit piece.
“his newfound nutritional path to salvation”
I’m sure he didn’t say it was a path to salvation. Probably just said it was a good diet choice, which is true. It’s not a requirement to be saved of course. But when God commanded his children not to eat them, he wasn’t just being arbitrary. I eat pork, but if there’s a choice I’d choose beef every time
>>But when God commanded his children not to eat them, he wasnt just being arbitrary. I eat pork, but if theres a choice Id choose beef every time<<
Two things:
1. I’m with you on beef over pork except for one thing: ribs.
2. This really is old testament stuff and completely changed in the NT. There are lots of places it is mentioned, but the most clear and unambiguous is here:
1 Corinthians 10:25,26
Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” (the quotes refer to Psalm 24:1)
Actually, all of 1 Corinthians 10 is pretty instructive.
Hit piece...
He’s trying to become the new religious spokeman for PETA. They’ll use him as far as they think they can.
It is ridiculous. We are not under the dietary laws of the jews. Yes there are some health reasons to avoid certain animals, but it is a personal choice, and some can be prepared to really cut down on the risks there are eating them.
To say ‘you must abstain from, or you must eat x’, is to put stumbling blocks in front of God’s grace through Jesus Christ’s atoning and totally sufficent sacrifice for us. And I will lump in meatless Fridays as part of it as it was started in Italy to bolster the seafood markets there.
This question was put to rest in Acts with God’s conversation to Peter: Nothing is unclean, arise and eat.
