Not all are homosexual, but enough high profile Jesuits in the 80's and 90's chose that lifestyle, and gave the whole order a bad name. Their sinful choice was an outcome of the liberal and feminist attitudes that had found their way into some of the major groups of Jesuits like those in the Boston area, like the late Fr. Drinan, who gave the Kennedy's their "personally opposed but can't force my opinion on legislation" cover for their actual attitudes about abortion. Some in San Francisco, and some other major cities also went to the liberal extreme.
There have been some Jesuits who have remained faithful. Avery Cardinal Dulles was one, as is Fr. Joseph Fessio, who helped start Ignatius Press, and who was critical to the building of Ave Maria University in Florida. Most of the kids there absolutely LOVED him.
