You posted a very interesting (hateful) link which leaves me to conclude you travel in dark places on the net. Your link also produced this image and commentary. Please note how disrespectful he is of Pope Benedict and Pope John Paul in not giving them their proper title - that of Pope which I guess wouldn't bother you as your deprecating agenda appears to be foremost. I wonder what he has to say about the Reformation?: Benedict venerating the Jewish sacred books During his visit to the New York synagogue, for a few instants the blue curtain on the front wall was open to display the sacred books and relics of Judaism to Benedict XVI. In this rare photo, one can observe the reverential position of the Pope paying his respects to those books. Among them are included the scrolls of Torah and commentaries on it made by rabbis. The ensemble of such commentaries by the famous rabbis is the Talmud. As it is known, the Talmud depicts Our Lord Jesus Christ and Our Lady in the most offensive manner possible. So, similar to John Paul II kissing the Koran, here we see Benedict XVI venerating the ensemble of Jewish books.

Re your post 59:

Excuse me: those "books" are Sifrei Torah (Torah Scrolls)--hand written copies of the first five books of the Bible written in a very strictly prescribed manner so that they are exactly the same as the First Torah Scroll and the one written by Moses.

The Talmud is not a commentary, it is not written on scrolls (it is printed in books), and it is not kept behind the curtain of the Ark with the Torah Scrolls.

I have read that in the old days before the reformation or modern liberalism the new Pope would pass the synagogue in Rome and the Rabbis would bring out a Sefer Torah for him to venerate. Whether this is true or not I don't know.
