I was under the impression that Jeremiah hid the Ark before the temple was sacked by the Babylonians.

I guess I'd have to ask you to cite your source for this.

Jeremiah's wording argues against this. "shall not be made again."

Jeremiah 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit [it]; neither shall [that] be done any more.

It appears that they shall forget about it and not visit it again. Does this mean it is no more? The bible is unclear on that. My stating that Jeremiah hid it was from hearsay and could not be held up in a court of law.
