They came, they prayed, they appealed.
Religious leaders from around the world held their own not-so-mini G8 summit in Italy on June 16-17. The Fourth Summit of Religious Leaders on the occasion of the G8, as the meeting was officially called, started with a visit to LAquila, the central Italian city severely damaged by an earthquake on April 6. That will be the venue in July of the actual summit of the G8 club of industrial nations.
Nearly 130 religious leaders and diplomats then moved to Rome where they held two days of talks under the auspices of the Italian foreign ministry. This was the religious leaders fourth annual meeting, following those held in conjunction with earlier G8 summits in Moscow, Cologne and Sapporo.
They were hosted by Bishop Vincenzo Paglia, the bishop of Terni who is one of the founders of the Sant Egidio community and a member of the Italian bishops conference commission for ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue.
Apart from the Catholic hosts, the participants including high-level Muslims, Protestants, Orthodox, Hindus, Anglicans, Zoroastrians, Jews, Shintoists and Buddhists.

He said in an interview exclusive video all’ADNKRONOS, Ign visible on the site, tested on-line site Adnkronos (www.adnkronos.com), the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia Abuna Pauolos, in these days in Italy for ‘G8 of Religions’, and that tomorrow will meet Pope Benedict XVI for the first time and to which, “if you ask - continued the Patriarch - tell the whole of part of the current situation.”
“The Ark of - reaffirms Pauolos - is in Ethiopia for many centuries. Patriarca As I saw with my own eyes and only a few very qualified people have been able to do the same, so far.” According to the patriarch is kept in a church, but to defend the authentic copy of a religious symbol and ‘been placed in every church in the country.
The official announcement that the Etopia give the world the keys to the secret part of the millennium, will be given next Friday during a press conference at the Hotel Aldrovandi 14 Rome from the Orthodox Patriarch of Ethiopia, along with Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Selassie, and the Duke Amedeo D’Aosta, which will be in Rome tomorrow morning.
According to some studies, the Ark was stolen from Jerusalem by the son of King Solomon and brought to Axum, regarded as the Jerusalem of Ethiopia. It will rise to Axum Museum named to host the Ark, whose project was funded by the Foundation of the prince, heir-designate to the throne by Haile Selassie before he died, Crhijecllu, acronym of the initials of the names of the children of Prince Christian , Jessica, Clarissa, Lucrezia.
A few weeks ago had been shown around the world the news that would have been seen by a journalist in the Ark authentic Ethiopian church. It ‘was then that the Patriarch has gained Pauolos the decision to “say once and for all the world the truth’” on the wooden crate and gold with the Tables of the Law of God The Patriarch has judged the time ripe to close permanently chapter in which up to now no history, no research, no ‘Indiana Jones’, was able to write the word order.
The Patriarch of the ancient Ethiopian Orthodox Church has wanted to be at his side in this adventure, the grandson of the Negus, head of an important family, whose role is recognized both in Ethiopia and abroad. Prince heir who two years ago managed to reconcile the Christian and Muslim factions at the center in Ethiopia for a hard contrast.
It ‘started the countdown to finally unveil the mystery of the sacred Ark of the Covenant, capable, according to legend, to release bursts of divine light and lightning can incinerate anyone who was affected, as is effectively described in the cult movie ‘I lost part of the predators’. From the fiction film will now be transferred to reality.
Friday press conference with the official announcement, an event was possible thanks to the collaboration of Paul Salerno, collaborator of Prince and the journalist Antonio Parisi, who for several years following the historical events of royal families and the Ethiopian in particular, and of course part of the Alliance.
What is the Ark of the Covenant, one of the greatest mysteries of antiquity on which fantasy, legend and history have continued to interlacing for centuries? The Ark, in Jewish tradition, contained the Tables of the Law, ie the Ten Commandments, and the artefact, acacia wood, was built by Moses. Outside decorations were gold and has long been kept by the Jewish people: it has accompanied its vicissitudes, the battles and defeats, the wanderings and struggles against the Philistines and was kept in various places until the King David is not l ‘was placed in the fortress of Jerusalem.
But it is Solomon, son and successor of David, to put the Ark in the Temple of Jerusalem which he himself had built. This story then interwoven with historical events and other religious and national traditions. In fact, the Ark of the disappeared in 586 BC with the conquest of Jerusalem by the Babylonians and the consequent destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem.
However it can be ruined, there is no written testimony, since the Ark becomes a symbol eternally searched by the men and found in various parts of the world, from Africa to the Middle East. Ethiopian tradition places the Ark in the kingdom of Axum, after Solomon had given to the son of the Queen of Sheba, Menelik I. Here, it remained over the centuries protected by Orthodox monks in the city ‘in the holy of Lalibela to Axum, where would be today.
The Ark, which is not visible to anybody except a monaco that the guards, is preserved in the complex of the cathedral of Saint Mary of Zion, and ‘therefore hidden to all and is carried in procession once a year but wrapped in a cloth .
The Ark has access to the imagination of archaeologists, writers, religious groups, seven of every kind. In fact, tradition states that it adopts a particular power but also that those who were touched fulminates. An object that given its location - the Temple of Jerusalem - has been from time to time in the middle of stories related to Masonry or Templars. However, it should be remembered that there are many churches in Ethiopia and in which ‘kept un’’’arca’’, as well as other scholars - often moving at the edge of mystery and legend - the place in various parts of the world
The date they say it will be announced is Friday June 26th, 2009
Fascinating. Thank you for posting this.
Aarons budded rod, the second set of Ten Commandments tablets and manna ... right?
It is kind of difficult because it’s in Italian so I had to do the Google Translation....
It will be interesting what happens next week....
Oh yeah ... and no one can touch it.
I thought I had heard one time, that no one could look upon it or they would die on the spot...
Will Geraldo offer to host a special when they open it?
I thought the Ark was to be revealed in Revelation 11:19
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm.
Nobody was supposed to touch it, except for ICHABOD!
ICHABOD = “the Glory has departed”
Therefore, it’s probably safe now.
I have expected that the Ark would be revealed when it was time to begin the ceremonies in the newly rebuilt Temple.
Most of me thinks that [now deceased] amateur archeologist who claimed to have discovered it underneath Golgatha . . . werein a crack precisely at the foot of the hole most likely holding THE Cross delivered Precious Blood directly to the hidden Mercy Seat . . . was right.
THAT’S something LIKE the God of The Bible WOULD ARRANGE.
We shall see.
Scripture is not precisely clear about that level of detail about it, imho.
The ark of Rev 11:19 is the one in Heaven. The ark on earth was only a representation of the one in Heaven.
To be more clear: ICHABOD is an pronouncement, not a person. Ichabod was used as an exclamation to declare that “God had left the building!” [This occurred long before Elvis thought of leaving. :]
You could look, you just couldn’t touch. The “Raiders of the Lost Ark” scene kind of stretched things a bit.
There was a public procession recorded where David moved the ark and danced before it. Richard Gere depicted this in a movie as David.
Yes it will be very interesting what they do reveal next friday on this....
It seems between the worlds government and religious leaders
quite a bit of *Secret Meetings* are taking place...
How will they move it, if they cannot touch it?
Craziest story was one of the SCi Fi channel where Mossad have the actual Ark and because it cannot touch the floor, Mossad Agents had the Ark STANDING UP the entire flight holding only on to the poles. Now imagine the discomfort when the plane was taking off and landing..it’s bound to break people’s legs.
This sounds like one of those Nigerian email things. How much money has got to be ut up before this fulminates, seven of every kind.
parsy, who has access to the predators.
First of all, it is probably O.K. to touch it now since the “Glory has departed”; i.e., God is no longer resident. Second, back when the Ark was visited by God, the Levites would move it using poles which went through loops in each side.
“...Open the case.”
Wooden poles that fit into brackets on the sides (wood is a poor conductor of electricity) I heard that it is essentially a capacitor. To see an example of how it was carried, there is a program called “Ancient secrets of the Bible”. It is in the intro. I think it was just on an hour ago, dang, we just missed it.
I thought the Ark was to be revealed in Revelation 11:19
And Jeremaiah tells us it will not be remembered or brought to mind.
How's that work?
And when you have multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, declares the LORD, they shall no more say, The ark of the covenant of the LORD. It shall not come to mind or be remembered or missed; it shall not be made again.
They forgot some Baalists and a few Molechites.
The Baalists and Molechites go to the real G8 meeting.
So if some Western journalist says he’s seen the Ark in Ethiopia, what will that prove? They aren’t going to let anyone from the outside world examine it, so the best that could be said is that they have something that could be a (probably very old) replica of the Ark, or could be the real Ark from Moses’ time.
Ichabod is a fictional character (Ichabod Crane .. Washingtom Irving) ...
Yes, that is where Washington Irving got the name!
“In the masoretic version of the Books of Samuel, his name is said to be a reference to the fact that the glory is departed from Israel, either in reference to the death of his father, or of Eli, or a reference to the loss of the Ark. The Septuagint, however, states that his name was a complaint: woe to the glory of Israel. The Codex Vaticanus refers to him as ouai barchaboth, i.e. as I Bar Chabod - I, son of Chabod or No, son of Glory. According to textual scholars, this section of the Book of Samuel, the sanctuaries source, derives from a fairly late source compared with other parts, and hence this justification of his name may simply be a folk etymology.”
So actually, I was incorrect. It was related to the capture of the Ark by the Philistines rather than the departure of God from the temple.
**I thought I had heard one time, that no one could look upon it or they would die on the spot...**
No one could TOUCH it or they would die on the spot. Read your Bible — it’s there!
a poor sense of sequence and timing seems to be involved in that post.
I believe that the Ark will be found and placed in the rebuilt Temple BEFORE the
abomination of desolation crowds it aside or replaces it.
My speculation is a replica.
God knows. I don’t.
Interesting, in any case.
That’s my feeling.
It just struck me as VERY MUCH the sort of thing God The Father loves to do.
Reportedly, the amateur archeologist who discovered it under Golgotha . . . even made a video tape of it and the angels guarding it. But at last, felt that he needed to leave the tape in the same chamber under the same guarding. That it was all to be sealed up again awaiting God’s perfect timing etc.
Israeli officials were notified etc. etc. etc.
We shall see. Made an interesting story, at least.
After Christ, the Ark is now just a box. A very interesting box - especially if it still has the tablets, etc., but just a box all the same.
I was under the impression that Jeremiah hid the Ark before the temple was sacked by the Babylonians.
I guess I'd have to ask you to cite your source for this.
Jeremiah's wording argues against this. "shall not be made again."
It appears that they shall forget about it and not visit it again. Does this mean it is no more? The bible is unclear on that. My stating that Jeremiah hid it was from hearsay and could not be held up in a court of law.
