Is this the sensible and decent translation that was supposed to replace the ICEL fiasco that was announced quite some time ago? Does this mean that we are returning to sanity?

Do we get to say “And with thy spirit” instead of “And also with you”? Or do we get to say “I believe” instead of “we believe”? Or “I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof; but speak the word only, and my soul shall be healed”? Or words to that effect instead of the abysmal ICEL mistranslations? I haven’t kept up with all this bureaucratic shuffling around.

Now can we fix the New American Bible, or are they too much hooked on their royalties?

The problem is we do not know who voted how and why.

Gosh, I would like to know which bishops voted against this more liturgical form of things. I’m sure Pope Benedict will find out and they will be on his short list for a “talking to.”
