We are here to prove that we are worthy of the gift of eternal life by our faith and our actions.

No one is worthy, no not one! So we CAN'T 'prove' that we are because God's Word says we aren't worthy. Salvation is a GIFT! We either accept it knowing we need a Savior or we don't accept it thinking by our 'good works' we can get into heaven. Only those that acknowledge they need a Savior and believe what Jesus did at the cross can one be made right w/God and have an eternal home in heaven.

That's why they call the Gospel the Good News. Salvation is a gift to receive - and no greater love is there! By saying that one needs to do 'good works' to get into heaven is basically saying Jesus' blood wasn't enough for our salvation. That's totally unscriptural and prideful. We are NOTHING w/o Him.

Yelling at people about the glory of God is always a good way to start a conversation.

Obviously you missed the word faith that was planted right in the middle of the sentence you quoted. And also don't assume the word actions equals works. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you are in the faith alone camp. Fine, that's what you believe. Me, I think maybe you actually need to get off your backside and do something that helps your fellow man, not just yourself, and not as some guarantee to enter the kingdom, but just because it's the right thing to do.

But as I stated, you missed the word faith, and without it, you have nothing. Being unscriptual, (is that even a word?) I think you will find both sides to this argument in the same book. And as far as pride goes, maybe you should reflect on that subject just a little yourself. Or are you really the final word when it comes to just who does and does not get into heaven?
