40 Years After Woodstock - The Woodstock Festival and Its Devastating Wake

The Baby Boomers and those of the post sixties generation are joyfully celebrating the 40-year anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival which took place in 1969. Since then, the event has been glorified, glamorized, sensationalized and etched into the very fabric of our American consciousness and youth culture. This festival was the defining point against “the Establishment” and America’s core Judean/ Christian values. This festival was the brown acid of the radical Left’s agenda, whose goons in the reprobate (godless) music industry have steadily pushed the boundaries of morality over the past 40 years. In the wake of Woodstock and the Moral and Political philosophy of Crowley and Nietzsche, the destructive shock waves from this era have been felt in every facet of American society and culture.

I went for the music , The Who in particular . Nobody bothered me . Never felt threatened . That huge alfalfa farm field became a huge city of half a million for those 3 days in 1969 and there was hardly any trouble . Drugs were done , sure . They were being done in every other city and small town across the heartland as well .

The insanity of baby boomer liberals in government and their ideas, can be traced to Woodstock. It should be obvious that Pelosi is an acid casualty.

People may not want to hear it because, for most Americans, this is an indictment. However, this article speaks the truth.

The truth is never easy to accept when you are standing on the wrong side of it. By the way, I am sadly including myself in the indictment.

I'll bet you were satisfied. I'm not all that much into late '6o's rock, but The Who certainly waxed some groovy discs.

Pete said Woodstock was one of the worst gigs they ever played.

Now if you want to see The Who at their best, check them out at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.

He said that because they arrived at the site 16 hours BEFORE they played ( rain caused delays , etc...) and their drinks were spiked with acid . Actually , The Who didn’t really want to do Woodstock in the first place , but a hefty ( for the time ) $ 25,000 contract enticed them . The Who got half of that dough .

I lived in Upstate NY at the time and never heard of Woodstock until after it was over.

I wonder how many Woodstockers will be around for the 50th reunion. Probably not many if Obamacare comes to be.

“Drugs were done , sure . They were being done in every other city and small town across the heartland as well .’

Moral relativism defined.

Not condoning the use of drugs . My point was that outside of the drug taking , nothing else illegal was going on . Nobody was murdered . As far as I know nobody got raped . No holdups . No fights . It was three days of peace . You can’t blame the promoters for 500,000 people showing up when the sold only 25,000 tickets and THAT is the amount of people they prepared for re: food , toilets , etc...

I for one am not interested in Woodstock nostalgia now,nor was I interested in that gathering then

IIRC at that time I was en route to Yankee Station again on board USS Constellation,CV-64.

It was not the first trip there, nor the last.If anyone thinks a hot summer day at Woodstock was tough, try 14-16 hours a day on the flight deck in 110 degree heat,(even at night!),doing something far more worthwhile.

Just MHO.

I lived in Southeast PA at the time, turned 8 a week and a half after the 'Stock, and never heard of it until maybe a year later when my mom, newly divorced, and I visited her girlfriend's (don't worry, iykwim :-)) and the latter's teenage daughter had the LP of the festival.
