I seem to recall the city of Sodom had a long debate about homosexuality. Six people voted against embracing it— Lot, his wife, two daughters and two holy men visiting them. The rest of the town voted for it. God did not respect the decision of the overwhelming majority, did he?

Nope, and Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt because she looked back.

God did take give mercy on those who fled and didn't look back.

Many will flee from the ELCA now.

So leaving aside the fact that rape was used as a way to humiliate, not sex for sex sake, that the sin of Sodom is pride, that Lot was wiling to let his daughters be raped instead of the MALE guests (why let the males be raped and humiliated when you have some woman to throw at the crowd instead), you’re saying that God smites people who vote against the way he does?
