“High Church wong”
This, of course, is a reference to the Anglican missions in China.
Of course.
Or it just might be a typo for “wing”. Maybe.

I just finished reading his
Apologia, and he definitely began over in the Calvinist/Evangelical wing. He drifted through High Church on his way to Rome.
Don't feel bad - I bet the closest he ever got to sheep was viewing "The Pretty Baa Lambs" or "The Hireling Shepherd" in the Royal Academy . . .
My grandfather in law was a Methodist Minister and United States Marshal for Arizona Territory back in the teens. He always said when he arrested somebody that they could go back with him as the minister . . . or as the marshal.

“”It’s about living in the Love”
Amazing! You echo almost to the words my father’s path from Judaism to Luthernism to Catholicism.
It’s about living in love and constant painful falls we take along the way, but it never stops the love.
He fell in love with Christ.

The farther from Canterbury you’re located, the more Anglican you have to look . . . and really you can’t get much farther from Canterbury than Yunkwei. . . .

Well, Our Lady’s mantle in that icon is based on the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Just to show that everything goes around and comes back, Sappho anticipated this lovely image in her poem to the Evening Star:
Evening Star who gathers everything
shining dawn scattered -
you bring the sheep and the goats,
you bring the child back to its mother.

This Religion Forum thread is labeled "Catholic Caucus" meaning if you are not Catholic, do NOT post to this thread.
For guidelines pertaining to the Religion Forum, click here.
To: Mad Dawg; Religion Moderator
You are correct, but it would help if the religion forum rules were easier to find. I spent 10 minutes earlier today looking for them, and failed.
And while I can open the link you provided, I have no idea where to find it in the future. (However, I’ve bookmarked it for future use!)
Some threads start off with the appropriate rules posted - that would help, but I’ve been posting of FreeRepublic for 11 years, and I don’t know where to find the rules on my own...

Thank you. I’ll try to remember that...but past 50, the memory doesn’t last as long as it used to!

Yeah. I bookmarked it too, after I came in stomping all over somebody else’s caucus thread with my muddy papist boots.

No problem! I know I barged into somebody else's thread once. That's when I was gently told what a Caucus thread was.
Except for the "gently" part.

Wow! Amazing indeed.
I think I may prepare a comment on our current RCIA course with an eye to re-casting it next year. "Living in the Love" wouldn't be such a bad sub-title, huh?

Or the words of Sarah Smith (from Golders Green) in The Great Divorce: "I am in Love, and out of it I will not go."

Yep! A great line.
My mother was from Golders Green. Always cracks me up when I remember the fictional Saint Sarah. It was a planned community back before planned communities were cool.
