“I will be silent then against the mockers.”

I can’t help myself sometimes. Against, the mockers, well, I’ve given up. Trying to deal with them in charity is beyond my abilities and I do so hate to go to confession and tell Christ, once again, I’ve failed again.

Since I also fail grotesquely, I share this concern. I think that the virtue of Faith can infused as much as it like, we still need to work at it from our end. God is not harmed by the misunderstandings of our foes, and so we cannot be harmed, in any ultimately important sense, either.

But, wow, do I ever forget that at the drop of an insult or slur (or even a poorly formed argument), may God forgive me.

In related news, I was trying to convey to someone how an Episcopalian who was in some sense a Calvinist could become a Catholic, and what came out of my mouth was, "It's about living in the Love. Calvin is excellent at talking about the abundant sufficiency of the Grace of God. All we can do is live in that love, and somehow trying to do that led me here."
