Aborted Fetal Material Used in Anti-Wrinkle Creams
Christian Newswire ^ | Oct. 27, 2009 | Christian Newswire

Children of God for Life announced today that Neocutis, a bio-pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology and skin care is using aborted fetal cell lines to produce several of their anti-aging skin creams.

"It is absolutely deplorable that Neocutis would resort to exploiting the remains of a deliberately slaughtered baby for nothing other than pure vanity and financial gain," stated Executive Director Debi Vinnedge. "There is simply no moral justification for this." ...

I would like to see some proof before I accept anything like this. I have heard rumours of this back in the eigthies and never saw any real proof.

Cheers

Wrinkles are not Polio. I’m gonna skip this one

I wouldn't care if it was polio or stage four brain cancer. I'd literally rather die.

Wow, they even admit it right on their website. What eczema creams is this stuff in? My son has eczema!!

http://www.neocutis.com/modules.php?modid=2

Below is all quoted from the site:

NEOCUTIS technology platform relies on the use of cultured fetal skin cells obtained from a cell bank for treating differing skin conditions.

The dedicated cell bank was originally established for wound healing and burn treatments using a single biopsy of donated fetal skin following a one-time medical termination.

The cultured cells can be used to produce skin constructs for wound healing or can be incorporated as cell lysate in a topical carrier for use in dermatology and skin care.

To date, the cultured cells originating from this cell bank are used in research and product development in the following areas:

• acute and chronic wound healing
• eczema and psoriasis, and
• vulvodynia, vulvar vestibulitis

Having developed a topical preparation for different skin conditions, the use of this preparation for daily skin care became apparent. Today this same cell bank also provides a lasting supply of cells for producing Neocutis’ proprietary skin care ingredient Processed Skin Cell Proteins (PSP®).

Had the donor fetus simply had been an in utero death ocurring, and the body donated for this research, would there be a complaint?

Company is overseas. I would think you’d need some kind of prescription for it. And yes, it would be biodegradable. I don’t see how it would be of any help topically.

Would you ask that to God’s face? If your child died that way would you think it right?

Through years of research, physicians discovered fetal skin has a unique ability to heal wounds without scarring. Inspired by this, medical researchers at the University Hospital of Lausanne, Switzerland created a biotechnology process to extract the rich proteins responsible for scarless wound healing from cultured fetal skin cells. A small biopsy of fetal skin was donated following a one-time medical termination and a dedicated cell bank was established for developing new skin treatments. Originally established for wound healing and burn treatments, today this same cell bank also provides a lasting supply of cells for producing Neocutis’ proprietary skin care ingredient Processed Skin Cell Proteins (PSP®). No additional fetal biopsies will ever be required.

When someone donates their body to science or I guess their baby’s to science or a donor pool, what do you actually think happens? What ever can be harvested is harvested. I think the value of fetal material probably being that you would not have the tissue rejection as there would not be antigen/antibody response. I would think there’s been a huge industry out there doing this for years.

Great post. I would rather die than use any product of a killed child for any purpose whatsoever.

If I recall correctly, fetal cell research has been used in some immunizations?

Yes I just did - thanks. It is stunning to think that the company is not even ashamed by this but rather promotes it - how far have we fallen as a society. It makes me wonder now whether the stories from the eighties were true but the companies wouldn’t admit to it.

How horrible

Mel
