It Just Doesn't Get More Repulsive Than This
Inside Catholic ^ | November 21, 2009 | Deal W. Hudson

Posted on 11/21/2009, 11:54:14 PM by NYer

When I was in 6th grade I got in trouble for cussing.  In an effort to clean up my language, I asked my teacher what the worst thing was you could call someone.  "Repulsive," he replied. I have always remembered that word, but have used it sparingly.

What I am about to report is, indeed, repulsive.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, released a statement yesterday morning -- "Gay Activists Bully DC Priests."

The instrument being used to bully is a Web site, ChurchOuting.org, which encourages people to report any priest, gay or straight, who may be "romantically involved," but only if that priest has supported the Church's position on same-sex marriage.

Any priest who wants to insure he will not be reported on the Web site can go ahead and sign a "Declaration of Religious Support for Marriage Equality."

This atttempt to destroy the reputations of priests for supporting the teaching of the Church they represent could best be described by Dante as inhabiting some remote circle of Hell.

In addition, the people behind this Web site are exposing themselves to significant legal consequences if a priest's name is listed by someone who simply wishes to injure him without any real evidence.

Perhaps these legal consequences, and the civil damages that will follow, will shut the site down before anyone is hurt.

Need it be said there are better ways to convince others of your point of view?

The insidious attacks on those who do not support their point of view has deteriorated into gathering and posting their names on a web site. We have seen this in CA where the general populace voted to overturn gay marriage and change the state's constitution to reflect marriage between a man and a woman. The attacks are now extended to priests perceived to be homosexual. God help us!

The vindictive, nasty, self-centered face behind the jovial facade of the gay community.

Isn’t this called “Extortion”?

And isn’t it illegal?

Well, homosexuals have always been at the forefront of “outing” their own, never even considering the repercussions. But in this instance, they are promoting blackmail or even fraud!

Apparently not so, if you are a homosexual.

The thuggery goes along with this Presidency. Reminds me of Hitler getting the low-lifes to go around thugging folks.

Is the point of outing gay or non-celibate straight priests some sort of attempt to point out hypocrisy on the part of Catholic clergy?

I’m a bit torn, because it is rather hostile. Then again, if you’ve taken a vow of celibacy and are breaking it you can’t fairly complain if people call you out on it.

It’s almost like tracking down tax cheats and turning them in, but only if they own a non-unionized business. Sure it’s politically motivated if you’re a union backer, but technically they are still tax cheats.

Priests who follow their vows will have nothing to worry about, and I’m not shedding many tears for those who don’t, since nobody forced them to become priests.

Interesting choice of words. They're not even looking for priests definitely, with proof, who are involved, just who may be.

Excellent excuse for reporting just about any and every priest supporting the Church's position on same-sex marriage.

Please visit www.standfirminfaith.com for some examples of the “tolerant” GLBT community. This is actually mild behavior for them.

Found what you must have been talking about.

standfirminfaith.com; Christians Assaulted in San Francisco a youtube embedded video at the web page. Link to youtube available at that page.

I guess they [the Castro fags] cannot see their own hypocrisy & bigotry. No disagreeable opinions allowed, not on "their turf" in "their neighborhood", or increasingly anywhere else, for that matter.

Truly we are living in the days of "the great falling away". Time is getting short. We must endure, to the very end.

Priests are human beings, and as such, are sinners, as are we all. They can be called to repentance, in the Sacrament of Confession.

This is simply an attempt to silence the Church in her opposition to the homosexual marriage issue in D.C. The homosexual activists want to damage the credibility of the Church. It's the same way they used the priest abuse issue in 2003, As it turned out, all of the information about those priests had been known for years, but they'd never seen fit to bring it up before. Because the plans had been laid for the Supreme Judicial Court to force homosexual marriage by fiat on Massachusetts, the homosexual activists used that issue to remove the Church as an effective opposition to their plans.

If I were to add my own painful ordeal here it would mirror everything NYer said.
Now even The Church is under attack.

Gay Marriage in this nation destroyed my blessed union. I can never, nor will I ever ‘get over’ what they have done.

Thank you all for being a part of the fight.

“Now even The Church is under attack.”

All the more reason for us to not only pray by ourselves, but to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance about forming parish groups to PRAY regularly for the Church and for their own parish.

Of course, nobody else has anything to worry about either, since nobody could, or would, tell a lie about anybody - especially on the web where anonymity is practically unheard of and it's very difficult to start a rumor.

Finally, to put all fears at rest, we all know that nobody has ever had his or her reputation destroyed by a lie; besides, it's no problem at all to undo the damage caused by a falsehood spoken against an innocent person.

Thank you SumProVita.

That’s a beautiful notion, and I know it can and should be done across America. If that were to happen, it would put a stop to this hedonistic agenda overnight.

I hope to finish the story of what happened to myself and my marriage soon, but there never seems enough time.

Nonetheless, I’m in a new town and am looking for a church to attend. When I find one, I’ll definitely have your suggestion at the fore of my thoughts.

Thank you again.
