It was suggested years and years ago that when the Disciple John saw the Revelatory visions of which he wrote, that THIS image might have been one of the ones he saw:

Of course, the USS Hawkbill (SSN-666) was decommissioned in 2000 after 30+ years of service, but a person nearly 2000 years ago who had never heard of or imagined a 'submarine' might well have thought this looked like a 'Beast rising from the sea', FWIW.

Maybe this will help...in Apocalyptic literature “the sea” is usually a metaphor for “people”. Thus, a Beast (the Antichrist, etc), rising out of the sea should be construed as a person coming forth out of a nation or people.

Do I think Obama is evil? Yes, as a matter of fact I do. However, one needs to be careful not to interpret Scripture using the daily newspaper (or internet), headlines.

There have been many evil men “rise up out of the sea” throughout history. Obama isn't the first and won't be the last. BTW...cool-looking submarine.
