Responsibility is not equal to salvation by works.
Secondly, what exactly is “easy Christianity”?
Mormons often think that “salvation by grace” means you can sin as you want. That simply isn’t true. Christians do good works BECAUSE we are saved not in ORDER to be saved. We do it to please God, as an offering, not in order to earn Godhood (LDS doctrine).
Thinking you can have ANY part in your salvation (working your way to Heaven) is MUCH MUCH easier than trusting someone else to do it for you (Jesus).
I have been on both sides (LDS and Christian). Surrendering my life to Christ was MUCH harder than “doing all I can do” was.
