If the parishioners of Reformation had spent a few years showing love and compassion for the newborns Tiller was killing daily in their own town, and ministered to him to stop his evil, perhaps this unfortunate turn of events could have been avoided. But I suppose they just didn't want to get involved in something so yucky, and anyway, he probably was a generous contributor to the church.

Dr. Tiller had formerly been a member of a Wichita Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation. I do not know the circumstances of his departure; I would hope that it was precipitated by the imposition of Church discipline.
