Go to confession. Only alter boys. Priests give communion. Our Lenten Duty. The Holy Triduum. No Eucharistic ministers. No premarital sex. The Holy Family. k, I must stop. I am enjoying this so much it is becoming sinful.
Yours in Christ.

Hi, new incoming Catholic here, still in training. Can someone point me to either a quick answer or a link explaining why we conservative Catholics are supposed to favor receiving the communion wafer on the tongue?

while our current Pope has a personal preference for communion on the tongue, he as also stated while being interviewed that he does not want to be “fussy about it”.

Definitely true! Father Greg spoke about Humanae Vitae, no artificial contraception, and NFP last Sunday. I think a few people were squirming in the pews, but I made sure to thank him for his homily after Mass to counteract any hate email or phone calls he might get on Monday!

Pope prefers Communion on the tongue, Msgr. Marini says"It could also be noted that the (Pope's) preference for such form of distribution which, without taking anything away from the other one, better highlights the truth of the real presence in the Eucharist, helps the devotion of the faithful, and introduces more easily to the sense of mystery. Aspects which, in our times, pastorally speaking, it is urgent to highlight and recover."
I myself would add that it makes desecration of the Holy Eucharist by the ignorant and evil more difficult.
