Beck just drew his social system on his chalk board. He put birthers in the top as a fringe group of anarchists crazies and dangerous; completely apart from ‘his’ constitutionalists. I happen to be a constitutionalist from the time of WWII and even before when it was actually taught in grade school with dedication to protect and defend it. Beck’s insult to day that I as a “birther” is such as he describes has only given me the opinion he is a self pious man who believes he has the overriding wisdom to determine the people who can be/should be included as dedicated to our Constitution.
I hope he does look at FR as you say because from now on I will be telling people now that Beck obviously has his ax to grind against those that believe the Constitution has more to it than what he wants you to believe.

Wow...I find that hard to believe. We love Megan but sorry she is on in this time slot. I’m sure it works better for her since maybe the hours are better and work better since she now has a baby at home. However, wish she would have stayed in a better timeslot. I hate to sound negative but seems to me this timeslot is not going to do anything to promote her show. I hope I am wrong but...as much as we like her I don’t think it was a wise move at all. She and Bill Hemmer were great together. Don’t watch Bill at all now since he has Martha as his partner.

it has been twice now he has attacked those who ask to see obama’s B/C and yet on both occasions he has not backed anything up except to say they’re nuts or on the fringe.

So what I would like to ask is this to him.

What is wrong with asking why obama has refused to show his B/C and why does he not let anyone look at it to shut the question up, why seal all his records and there are many like his school days and results at Columbia especially seeing as no one seems to remember him going there?

simple questions and yet for some reason we have Beck now thinking he has the right to put people down.

I tell my kids that there are no stupid questions and it seems Beck missed that advice somewhere in his life.

Until he goes after Jennings and the homosexual agenda, then I will not watch.
Lately he has attacked those about obama’s B.C
he states how Lincoln was a great man for states rights and tell us that a book he reads is the truth and then in the next breath tells us that we have to educate ourselves on the issues.
Well it seems to me that we educate ourselves but only with the books he tells us too.
Then he refused to go after Jennings and yet went after the other czars.

Seems to me he is about Beck and that’s it.

Yep! My feelings exactly!

Beck claims to have abiding loyalty to the Constitution ( except that little, but important, part about having a natural born citizen for a president.)

Yeah! And...Beck avoids the homosexual bully agenda like a vampire cringes from holy water.

And....You can know a man by the company he keeps. Beck keeps company with OReilly!

Does someone need to take this advice?

When applying the ashes:

*Remember, man, thou art dust and unto dust shalt thou shalt return."

or the priest (or lay person) can also say

"Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel."

Anyone can receive ashes. It is a sacramental — not a sacrament.

You could go into a Catholic Church and receive ashes on your forehead.

Usually Catholic Churches are packed to the gills on Ash Wednesday when not only Catholics, but other Christians come for the ashes.

:) We like Megan because she is so much rolled into one. Sharper than most on cable and network.

I was surprised that Biden was able to find a Catholic Church that would let him in the door.

He probably just dabbed his finger in Obama's ashtray and did himself!

My point with Biden is that he ran around in front of television cameras all day long with the ashes on his forehead. He's trying to say that even though he believes wholeheartedly in the Democrat Manifesto he is a Catholic. Even though he subscribes to the murder of millions of innocent babies he is, after all, a Catholic!

He is posturing, imbecilic piece of scum!

If Biden and Pelosi were observed with ashes on their foreheads, indicating they participate in the RCC ritual in observance of Lent, then perhaps the critics perceive Biden and Pelosi, from their support of abortion, might not have been given that sacrament, similar to a priest refusing them the Eucharist. I didn’t hear the criticism by the announcer, so I don;t know his true intent.

Thanks, re:sacramental vs sacrament.

Just an observation.

Over the years on many an occasion, I generally do not track Lent. Seems as though it always pops up 1-3 weeks earlier than I anticipate it to occur, but am reminded when I observe a faithful Catholic wearing the ashes on the forehead.

When I ask if those are ashes, in a friendly fashion, I am frequently rebuffed in disgust. I really don’t understand why the animosity in reaction to such an inquiry. Is there anything associated with the ritual which is considered private to warrant such a response or is it just human reaction? Any ideas? This isn’t intended to offend, just a curious observation and query.

That’s too bad that you are rebuffed. Those people are missing an opportunity to do some evangelizing.

If someone asked me, I would answer in the afirmative and then ask a couple of questions.

Where do the ashes come from? (Answer: the dried palms from the previous Palm Sunday are burned to provide the ashes.)

Second question — Do you know what the priest says when applying the ashes?

Answer:
The priest can say two things:

“REmember, man, thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return.”

“Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.”

And my last question would be about who can receive the ashes.

Answer : Any sinner, even many non-Catholics flock to Catholic Churches on Ash Wednesday to receive the ashes.

Then I would end with an invitation:

“Why don’t you consider coming to my church_____________(name inserted) next Ash Wednesday?

Whatever their answer I would wish them a happy day and a blessed Lent.

I was going around all day yesterday wishing people “Have a blessed Lent.”

Just my take — but then I am into evangelization! LOL!

Maybe next year — you can ask some of these Catholics the same questions. Go for it!
