A spokesman for the Gloucestershire Gay and Lesbian Community group said Rev Frank Wainwright's words were ''poorly chosen'' but accepted his apology. He said: ''I can understand why he has said it as there are canonic references.
''However, we are living in a different world and one would hope that anyone who is in a loving relationship would be accepted.
''In this country, it is legal for people of the same sex to enter into a civil partnership and that is not necessarily a religious relationship.
''But we appreciate he has apologised for the remark and we would not want to stir anything up.''
Catholic ping!
“However, we are living in a different world and one would hope that anyone who is in a loving relationship would be accepted.”
Denial is a river in Egypt. Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Romans and several other chapters and passages of scripture say this is a sin. Our Lord said “that heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away” These people better start getting their head together or it is going to provoke a reaction.
They won't. Period. That's the whole issue. God has made it clear that he will not accept an active, unrepentent homosexual. No homosexual will inherit the Kingdom of God.(1 Cor. 6:9-10). Telling people otherwise is incredibly cruel. Tell them good news. Tell them there is a savior, named Jesus Christ, who has redeemed them before God if they will only repent and accept him as Lord. Now THAT'S compassion.
