what exactly happens when one is “served the sacrament”?

After saying rote prayers (which the LDS usually condemn for anyone else) they pass out wonderbread and water and everyone promises to keep ALL the commandments that next week.

Oh, so it’s like communion? Literally, Wonderbread?

So lds really don't get the "do this in remembrance of Me"?

Personally, I do not care if they use water or wine or grape juice or flat bread or wonder bread, it IS the remembrance of Him that is the issue. I met a man who was a Holocaust survivor and they held, in secret of course, communion using a flat bread (they were saving the meager bread they received and on occasion were given lemons) and lemon juice.

"For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.' In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes" (I Corinthians 11:23- 26).
