Regardless of how we live our lives, we still fall short in the eyes of God. Jesus Christ came to this earth for the sole purpose of taking on our sins and dying with them.

Salvation is a gift of God that can not be earned or bought. We can not take credit for any of our salvation, it is attained through faith in Jesus Christ and that faith is a gift from the Holy Spirit.

Good works are a result of this gift, but not a reason for salvation.

God bless

I understand that. And I am not suggesting a “good Christian” for lack of a better word will be spared everything going on. However, I would rather try (and understand I am saying try, not accomplishing) to be the best I know how per the teachings of Christ than to assume there is on point in tryinig. And yes I will fall short. I am deeply grateful for the Atonement- I understand the principle but I certainly do not understand the process.

I just know Christ died for men’s sins and did something for me I can not do for myself. And that is precious to me.

Thanks for your thoughts.
