There was certainly a flood which created the Black Sea, but it was more like 8,000 years ago. I believe the Black Sea flood is what inspired the Noah story. It would have wiped out most if not all of the population in the region at the time. There is also evidence of civilization on the floor of the Black Sea. Perhaps that is from where the Israelites originated and only a few survived. Passed down orally for generations and altered a bit with each, we get Noah’s story. Who knows what really happened, but it only took about 300 years for King Arthur to go from a brutal warlord to the romantic character with Camalot, a round table and knights in shining armor. There is likely truth to Noah’s story, but I doubt a man named Noah built a large ship and saved every species on earth. Not when there were humans and animals living across the world in different civilizations at the time.
