It seems to me that while it is true that celibacy is not the problem per se, it tends to attract homosexual men disproportionately .. Is this just your opinion or is it based on some statistical studies?

There are many studies and other observations but probably the best is Changing Face of the Priesthood ,by Father Donald Cozzens, a long time Seminary rector.
