no prob! my brother converted to Baptist and i know they dress up more than the catholics, but have complained that standards are slipping there too. my problem is indecent, immodest clothing, more so than stuff that is too casual, not dressed up enough. women should not make it hard for men to concentrate on God in church by dressing provocatively.

For the most part, I don’t notice clothing unless it is extreme and body parts look like they’re going to pop out and reveal themselves.

At the First Baptist AND the Methodist church here it is like a fashion show and the women talk incessently about fashion and shopping and it almost becomes a competition. You’d just have to be there but all they talk about is clothes, hair, vehicles and houses.

In the Methodist church where I was raised and I can tell ya, Easter was all about what you were wearing. In the end I dubbed it “The Methodist Social Club”.

IMO, anything that is decent and clean and covers your body where it should is acceptable.

At our parish clothing is never mentioned except for 1st Communion and Confirmation and we tell them to dress in their best because it is a very special day. In the neighboring parish they harp on it regularly and people don’t get the hint so they obviously think they are harping about someone else, LOL.

It is also subjective, I know a woman who has spent her life helping children. She raised her own family and then adopted 3 children who had mild FAS. She comes from a good family, has an education and dresses like a bag lady. She just doesn’t “see” what she looks like or she wouldn’t go out in public dressed that way. My granddaughters think I dress dorky but my friends and husband think I dress just fine and my grandsons wouldn’t even notice.

&&&
That is my biggest gripe of all. I feel sorry for the men when some nubile airhead is there in her short, short skirt and low-cut tank top.
