I’ve thought about that. But I don’t donate to every site I use, though most solicit.

I was really enthusiastic about FR. I dragged my husband and one of my kids to the Halloween anti-Clinton rally in DC, and really enjoyed myself. Highlights were seeing Ann Coulter, and meeting Lucianne and Jonah Goldberg.

If the problem is ever cleaned up here, I will donate again. Until then, I give to Lucianne.com and National Review Online.

IT is so different than the way a Christian would try to lead another person to the truth.

— - - -
It is. When I was training to be an LDS missionary, we were told to control the conversation and ask leading questions just like that.

It was a hint that we were manipulating them.

The vast amount of misrepresentation, twisting and lies spewed forth on these boards by the Anti-Mormon clan is quite mind-boggling and overwhelming.

Again with your standard cut and paste, PD.

Still waiting for you to PROVE any twisting and lies of the things I have said.

I can support my statements, can you? Or is it another case of I know your religion better than you do?

I don't know that I would call the LDS evil. Some things are misguided while not being evil. Mind you, I'm saying I don't know that I would call it evil. Maybe it is, maybe it's not. What I do know is that there is sufficient difference between the doctrine of the LDS and the doctrine that I know as Truth, and that is cause for concern. History shows a significant number of Christians who DID believe in the same doctrine as I do being misguided and perpetrating acts that were at best questionable and at worst damning. Perhaps the LDS is just another case of mankind getting its grubby hands on something and screwing up again. Or maybe it's on purpose. What I do know is that my door has been knocked on many times by Mormons, and I have had quite a few of them ask to baptize me. They were lucky my (now) wife was there to intervene in my response, as I was not exactly friendly to religion at the time. I have since been baptized and confirmed, but still don't really support the tenets of the LDS.

You do want the Truth right? Show it.

- - - -
I HAVE the Truth. I have Christ.

It is Mormonism that is the lie. And a damnable one at that.

Is that you, K-Lo? No wonder NRO has been flacking for Mitt ever since he decided to become pro-life.

Have you informed Jim Robinson of your feelings? Here, I'll ping him for you. He should be informed of the very democratic practice of withholding donations to those who don't toe the line.

Your reaganaut missioin is accomplished

- - - -
Agreed. My ‘mission’ in posting this is to prove how Mormonism doesn’t get who Christ is, that some members believe He was married and a polygamist (which your leaders taught), and to show how they disrespect my Lord and Savior.

Now, how about answering my question about temples in the time of Jeusus?

There’s nothing “undemocratic” about deciding where to spend your money.

If you can find where we have been “misrepresenting”, “twisting” or “lying” our experiences, just ask one of us and we’ll gladly answer your questions.

- - - - -
Amen, SZ. I OPENLY challenge anyone to ask me any question about my time in Mormonism, my experiences, what I was taught, documentation on teachings and doctrine, why I left, and how I came to Christ.

My story is an open book. Ask away.

Wouldn't Jesus have been known to his contemporaries as Yeshua bar Yosef (Joshua, son of Joseph)? Christ (or any form of the word) was not his name. It was a title, the Greek word for Messiah.

Of course, using the right name would not legitimize this blasphemous ceremony in any way.

...seeking to divide conservatives.

LL...Breaking News Headline: "Conservatives already divided..."

* Some conservatives are "pro-choice" tea-partiers...
...Others are social conservatives who are forward in protecting the next generation and those currently at risk...
* Some conservatives are small-govt libertarians who favor access to porn, including access easy for minors to get...
Others say, "No, let's at least look at treating the porn industry as we would regulate other prostitutes" [Even in today's news, some porn prostitute used a machete to kill a fellow porn prostitute and stab other film bordello "employees" at a place where they not all only worked but stayed]

Likewise, the founder of your religion called ALL the members of my faith as "corrupt" in that profession of their faith...[you disagree with that?]...
...and he called 100% of their creeds to be an "abomination" to your god...[you disagree with that?]...
...and he said none of these heart-drifting Christian sects were worth joining...[you disagree with that?]...
...and he said none of them were true -- and were "apostates"...[you disagree with that]...
...'cause if you don't disagree with those things, then YOU'VE GOT THE GALL, LADY, TO BE TALKING ABOUT YOUR SO-CALLED 'UNITY'

What? You think you can gather with friendly Christians, go right up to each one, slap each one in the face, saying...
...this slap is for your "corruptness" my "prophet" says you have...
...and this second slap is for you buying into "abominable creeds" my "prophet" says you have...
...and this third slap is for being an "apostate"...
...and this fourth slap is for failing to be among the "only true and living church on the face of the earth" (D&C 1:30)...

And, then as you turn to face your "friendly" conservative Christians, you add:
"Oh, and this isn't simply my mere 'opinion,' this is 'scripture' 14 milliion of us adhere to..."
"Oh, and now that I've had your attention by slapping your face daily since 1875 when my 'family' made all of these things 'scripture,' I wanted to lecture you on how I'm getting a wee bit 'alienated and offended' by your telling the truth about our slapping you around and our other beliefs...
...doncha know that other than these 'small things that divide us,' we're "reliably conservative"...
...Well, ya know except on that one-man, one-woman thing for our 'family's first 75 years...and when our jesus returns...and for eternity...

This website clearly doesn’t belong to me, and the owner can do whatever he wants. But I think the Religion Forum is counterproductive, if the goal of this site is to rally and unite conservatives.

There is a group which constantly attacks Mormons, and another which constantly attacks Catholics. It is beyond dispute that, if we want to win, we have to put aside doctrinal disputes and focus on what we have in common.

The beliefs of the antis can be ridiculed and attacked, as easily as anyone else’s. At times in the past, I admit, I have allowed myself to do it. But, it makes no sense, if what we are really trying to do is unite and rescue our country from the secular Left.

Basically, the Mormons, conservative Catholics, and the groups here who constantly attack both, agree on some fundamental principles. They agree with John Adams who said that morality and religion are essential to our constitutional system. We ought to be focusing on that. What purpose is served by constantly picking at scabs?
