I respect the Mormons beliefs, but there ARE some very unusual aspects of it which in my mind qualifies it as a false religion. I’ve had many wonderful Mormon friends in my life, but one time, at the end of a hard day working on a sub in Canada, I got my buddy “Ron” who was a Mormon to have a couple beers with me, which was probably the first time he ever drank?. He started talking about God having a wife in heaven and having sex in front of all the saints....then rambling on and obsessing about the purpose and wonder of magic symbols on little girls underwear?!?...and other very strange things I’d never heard before. When the “Book of Mormon” and “A Pearl of great price” take precedence over, or become equal to the Holy Bible, that’s where they really go off track. The last verse in the Bible warns about adding or subtracting from scripture. other verses state that the Bible as we know it is complete is exactly how God wanted it to be, working through men, guided by the Holy Spirit..(wheather we wanted more or less is of no consequence) “All Scripture is good and profitable for exhortation, teaching and rebuke”. “Not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away” Jesus said “ Heaven and earth shall pass away but my word will remain forever”. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God” (the trinity)..”Many false christs and teachers will come in my name, proclaiming another gospel” and “some teaching doctrines of demons”...Paul?. The book of Mormon is fascinating reading though if you like fantasy and adventure, the exploits of the angel Moroni and the lost tribes of Israel coming to the new world and becoming the ancient Maya’s and Aztecs and other cultures..)Everyone thinks THEIR way is the RIGHT way. “God is not a respecter of persons”. He loves everyone equally. In the end each one of us must “ Work out our OWN salvation with fear and trembling” and not be intimidated by “arm twisting” by any religious groups or beholden to any person/s telling you what you MUST or must not do. Search for yourself. Read and learn about other religions too, but give the Bible a chance. Don’t let anyone tell you what it says or what people may have told you about it in the past. Find out what it says to YOU for yourself. Sorry for the long diatribe, but this is the most important issue in life and we only get ONE chance to get it right. “It’s appointed ONCE for man to die, and then the Judgment”
