They are arguing about trivial side issues that do not matter to us (or to God, probably). The Pope needs to begin TAKING ACTION to sack the molesting offenders and those who protected them in the hieracrchy. He must build a new, vigoroulsy moral institution that leads world-wide because his church is crumbling.

The Church is being purified! The exposure of these miscreants has to occur before the Church can heal. This is good news.

The bad times were the '60s thru the '80s when this abuse was at its peak but occurring in secret and being terribly mishandled by various bishops. We didn't see it but God knew about it all along and it was a terrible impediment to Divine Grace. We've already hemorrhaged large numbers of members during those years and seen vocations dwindle drastically. Things are now on the uptick.

Our awareness of what has been going on and our resulting shock has very little long term relevance for the Church. The Church is Divine and it's God's blessings that will sustain it. Now that the lavender gang are being weeded out and the seminaries are being renewed, the Church will be strengthened.
