Supporting Israel in a war against Iran will substantially deflate the anti Obama forces and be an effective runup to the midterm elections for Democrats. Obama's potential strike against Iran will be received about as well as Clinton's 40-odd day air war against Serbia. Comparisons to WW2 are likely to be overdrawn if only because the Democrat-base does not believe that war is a legitimate tool of statecraft.
