Let's not go crazy here. Obama's potential strike against Iran will be received about as well as Clinton's 40-odd day air war against Serbia. Comparisons to WW2 are likely to be overdrawn if only because the Democrat-base does not believe that war is a legitimate tool of statecraft.

I agree, however, today many Americans would not have the fortitude to endure a WWII over the long-haul. Look at the backlash against Afghanistan less than 10 years after 9/11.

Therefore, Obama only need enough of a distraction to get through the mid-term election without losing too many seats (which the media will portray as a victory for Obama's policies). Yes, the Dems might lose 40 seats in the House and the media will say it should have been more, so it is a sign that Obama, and his policies, are loved.

$ 7.00 - 8.00 a gallon gas is not going to help him much on top of high unemployment, and a double recession ( really a depression.)
Things could go horribly wrong really fast in the middle east in this up coming war.
