BTW, from the Daily Mass Readings, I think you know better than to say Catholics don’t read the Bible.

Having family that are exRC's that was not my experience. On the few occasions I attended RC services family members thought it odd that I brought my Bible and I did notice that no one else attending brought a Bible.

Yes, truth always prevails, although on FR's RF it may not.

Oh I do think that truth does prevail on FR Judith. If we only see what is on the threads then we will be surely disappointed and or in some cases angry. The Lord moves very much behind the scenes of what we see...and what we see is not always how it really is.

It has been said that the underside of a tapestry is how we see and view life and work....loose threads and a design that often looks more confusing and unclear than not.... That's often how the threads look on FR as well, like the underside of a tapestry...But God sees these threads from the upper side view of a tapestry, He sees the whole picture as it really is and He knows each one weaving by name. It is He that brings forth the truth to the heart and mind as each one attempts to unravel the threads to see it.... But one does have to co-operate with God by wanting the truth... It is a marvelous thing to the seeking heart when He does reveal what is His truth. A beautiful thing to behold!

I think a lot of that is "attack the messenger if you can't attack the message"?

Would this not evidence the message might have gone to the heart of some and therefore the battle rages between heart and mind perhaps?....a fierce one at that.

Nice to know.

This Priest took years to come to the place where he saw his faith as it really was...so too it shall be for others.

I think this is the norm. I suspect that there are 2 types responding to an altar call. One type that is caught up in the moment. The other type that came to that moment after a time of reflection on what was missing in their lives.

A powerful story of what happens when a priest starts reading the Bible like a protestant and lets Satan work in his heart to twist and ignore The Word. Very sad that men let Satan lead them astray.

quite long winded,eh ?

usual scatology directed at the Church instituted by Christ WHILE HE was on earth, not given to a man via revelations.

I always enjoy reading about how Sacred Scripture was denied them or OPEN to a personal interpretation ,and aren’t all other manmade religions 100% guilty of this in regard to the Body and Blood of Christ ? wasn’t a parable and make note that Christ did NOT call back all that walked away.....how do YOU have enternal life ?

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+6&version=KJV

read the entire entry—”they” walked NO MORE WITH HIM and no where is it written that Christ called them back for a further explanation .

Think many should understand and realize WHO they’re arguing with.

Yes, that does seem to be the case. My own search ttok several years as well. But there comes a time when Christ makes it as clear as it’s going to get and a decision is made. Just as in this mans case. What an amazing testimony. I am saving it!

I think this is a great observation. All we have to do is preach The Gospel and ask those looking for Truth to seek the answers in Scripture.

Then why does he get basic facts wrong?

Did he ? Or is it you do not like the testimony ?

Woa!.... Treading on sacred ground and calling a mans testimony under satanic influence is a dangerous place to be when Gods word and truth has brought Him to Christ.

If Mr. Bennett found “the truth” why does he need to tell so many lies to convince others?

. All Catholic priests do read the Bible, every day at Mass (and on their own as well).

Out of context in in sound bites

Good job putting up this link. I did some additional web research and found that “saying the Breviary” is a common term, and, in a Catholic Encyclopedia article about Savanarola, Dominicans are referred to as monks.

Do no confuse people with the facts :)

I would wager that some girlfriend/boyfriend was the main causative factor in this tale of woe.

Do you have any evidence? Because if sex was the root of all priests leaving 75 % of them would be gone with nuns, women from the parish or little boys

when the time comes that you understand that you’re simply going against Jesus Christ and HIS Church, not a manmade church, fact from fiction will easily be defined.
