A lot of truth in the article. Unfortunately most churches are more interested in “putting butts in the pews” so they don't confront the culture. Instead they try to fit in to the culture and then wonder why they can not “hold on” to their members.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God bless

Billy Sunday had a million notches on his Bible — but lost all four of his kids, who’d been placed in the care of hired keepers, so they would not get in the way of his “ministry.”

Billy Graham used the manipulative techniques invented by Charles Finney and refined by Billy Sunday to mass-produce fake conversions. Unlike them, he had the integrity to run the numbers, and do the math. 94% of those who responded to his oratory failed to thrive, to live Christian lives.

Barna and other surveys suggest that 90% of evangelical kids walk away from God soon after leaving home.

Providentially, that’s not the whole picture. In America, parents face two doors. Go through Door A, and the odds are 10 to 1 that they’ll desert the faith. Go through Door B, and the odds are 25 to 1 that they’ll embrace and further the faith. Millions of parents are going through Door B. Not yet a majority — major social transformations take time — but its always the creative and faithful minority that shapes history.
