No Japanese have thought to erect a Shinto shrine very near to Pearl Harbor.

There is certainly some ambiguity whether this mosque very near to ground zero is a religious center or a victory monument. And it seems that it will be erected long before the long-delayed freedom-tower is ever done.

Japanese use the Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington Virginia as a place to pray for the souls of the dead lost in WWII.

I lived overlooking that site for about 7 years. Every night there'd be Japanese out there flashing strobe lights all over the place, and praying, and sometimes leaving flowers.

It's highly complex, but I don't think it's occurred to them, nor would it, to build a Shinto shrine near Pearl Harbor.
