This is good news!

I believe the Holy Spirit is filling the ranks of the priesthood with new, traditional, and faithful young men. These are men who accept the lowly sacrificial aspect of the priesthood and intend to serve humbly. There is no glory in it now, the way there was in the 50’s and early 60’s when so many of our current priests began. There was a glamour about it then.

Now it is not a glory road; it is more the Way of the Cross. Priests today are regarded with distrust and suspicion. They are overworked and lonely and are not welcomed into parishioners’ lives the way they once were. I think many of them feel very alone as they walk this journey today.

We will be a stronger, smaller, more faithful Church in the near future. But I believe the faithful remnant will be well served by the young priests who are heeding the call today. They are more closely serving the way St. Peter and the Apostles served.

“I don’t worry about it, the Holy Spirit is still guiding the Church.” ~Fr. Nash (May perpetual light shine upon him!)
