Sadly, the Louisville Courier Journal is on the "Do Not Post" list so here is a LINK to the article. Worth a read.

In summary, this is the guy who was behind the lawsuit which stretches back to 1928. The plaintiffs filed for dismissal this week.

A good lesson in not applying wide brush strokes to an institution, because of one's personal interaction with it, or because of news stories about incidents within it.

Yes, there have been instances of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, and yes, some Bishops tried to make as little of it as they possibly could. Some did so to avoid wider scandal, and thought they were doing what was best. Some did so just to make their lives easier. Either way, it was wrong, even though that's the way it was done EVERYWHERE back then.

Mr. O'Bryan realized that not ALL priests were abusers, and the the Catholic Church, as a whole, is not the criminal enterprise the MSM has tried to make it out to be. I'm glad both Mr. O'Bryan, and his wife, reconciled themselves to God and found their way back to the Church.
