I would say Obama is a man who hasn’t thought very deeply about religion. And either he never learned the basics of the Christian Gospel, or if he has he has rejected it.
Read what he said about Jesus he mentions Jesus in the Christian faith, which implies he is elsewhere too. One of the ONLY instances I can think of in which Jesus exists in another religion is Islam. It is very bizarre phrasing he uses.
Part of the "I'm spiritual, not religious" crowd, who want to feel good about themselves without having to actually improve themselves or believe in anything.

If he believes what he said (and I have no reason to doubt he does) then he is much closer to a Muslim than he is to a Christian.
so he basically had nothin prior to Rev. Wright and Trinity.

Here’s my prophesy (God didn’t whisper this into my ear but I see it clear as day):
Obama is going to become the great unifier. Saying that Christians and Muslims should come together because essentially they Islam and Christianity are the same religion.
Which is true if you gut everything from Christianity that makes it unique. Which he does.

From what I recall he joined Trinity to establish his black connection to the community, and it was a place of influence in Chicago politics.

Agree with the prior posters. He’s closer to Muslim than Christian, and as is the case in so many things, always wants it both ways.

Muslims believe that Christ was a prophet and Allah is the prophet of Islam.
Christians believe that Christ is the God of Christianity.
How will Obama morph Christianity and Islam together with any semblance of rationality?

A Muslim who was raised a Christian told me this very thing. I’m afraid the bulk of Americans will fall for this.
The first step is you discredit the Trinity and marginalize believers in it.
eg. It was a late invention by the Romans. It’s illogical, doesn’t make sense. Only radicals really believe it. I don’t see it in MY bible. etc.
