And there in lies the problem... Religion should NOT be whatever “works for us”, but rather what the truth is according to God himself. Religion is man saying to God how things will work, not man seeking the one and only truth from the one and only God. There is but one God and one way to salvation. Have you ever actually taken the time to read all that Joseph Smith espoused. It was/is whack to the core.

Something might "work" for you while you are on earth, but if it leads to eternal damation after this life, it didn't really work, did it? While all the things that Beck did at the rally were great and noble, in so much as trying to save out republic, if in the end someone seeks out Mormonism because of their admiration of Beck they have forfeited their eternal salvation. That is the point of this pastor. While I myself, am grateful that someone is waking up America to the ills of Obama, I was uneasy that it was someone whose beliefs are so very flawed and are in complete opposition to that of the truth of Christ Jesus and his plan of salvation.

All that being said, this is the first time I have chimed in on the rally and this controversy. I know i will be flamed. Really don't care. False doctrine is false doctrine and it leads to eternal damnation. Would everyone be on Becks side if he were one of these peaceful Muslims we hear about and was saying all the things he says??? I think not..

do your homework regarding Mormonism people. it won't take you too long to realize it is apostate. In fact, given how intelligent i believe Beck to be, it surprises me that he has not figured it out and jumped ship. I pray for him almost daily that the truth of Jesus Christ will be revealed to him.

Okay, now, everyone flame away, but before you do so and call me a religious bigot, do your homework and read God's word from beginning to end and then compare that to the beliefs within Mormonism and tell me if they coincide... This Pastor is not as concerned about saving this nation (which will cease to exist, as will all others when Christ returns) as he is at saving souls for all eternity. I for one commend him. That is his point. He applauds Beck in his political views, but fears for souls that may be lead astray. And there you all have my two cents...

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God does not sanction one religion over another.

Thank you for your spiritually discerning post, it was right on the money. No flames because what you said is the truth.

Our first responsibility is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Only He (not the "jesus" of Mormonism) can save men from themselves and from their sins. Only He can restore honor in a mans life and only He can restore any nation who's people put their faith in Him and in Him alone because God's Word is clear:

"Blessed is the nation who's God is THE Lord.

As to the reason why Mr. Beck has not come to an understanding of the truth regarding Mormonism and left the cult:

He is either willfully ignorant of Mormonism's heretical teachings.

Or he has put Mormonism to the test and still stays anyway knowing it is heretical, not biblical Christianity, not true for personal reasons = his wife would only marry him IF he converted to Mormonism.

Lastly, he stays because he is spiritually deceived and Satan, the "god of THIS world" has blinded his mind because he does not believe.

Whatever the case, in spite of Glenn Becks love of country, and constitution, and his desire to "Restore Honor;" the danger in mixing pseudo Mormon "spirituality" with politics he has the power to lead men to hell and eternal damnation if they decide to become, or remain Mormons as a direct result of his witness and testimony regarding Mormonism and Mormon doctrine.
