Today, April 16th, marks the 85th birthday of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful people, look mercifully upon Thy servant Benedict, whom Thou hast chosen as shepherd to preside over Thy Church. Lord, we pray for your son Pope Benedict.
The guy knows evil.
He lived with it, so he could warn us of it’s peril.
He leads by example,
A valiant captain under your banner.

Blessed Triune God, fill the hearts and minds of the cardinals. Guide them to select the successor who is best to lead the Church in these parlous times. Ease the pain of Benedict in his frailty and grand him comfort and peace.
