Does anyone off hand know the name of the Saint (female) who was in a fort being invaded by I believe Muslims (and I am guessing around 500 yrs ago).

It was said she held the Holy Eucharist up as the killers started coming over the walls and when they saw that the all retreat or dropped dead.

I would like to find her name so I can read up on it to get the story straight.

Thanks.

It wasn’t Muslims, it is described as a band of ‘rough men’ who were planning to attack Assisi, and were going to start with the convent where St. Clare (friend of St. Francis) was the Abbess, and where her sister, St. Agnes, also lived. She asked the Sisters (Poor Clares) to take her to the roof, and it was there that she place the Blessed Sacrament so it would be seen by the attackers. She stayed there until the attack broke off, and the men left.
