I’m flying my Columbus flag today! It’s always good for a conversation starter with the neighbors.

My father’s out in Berzerkley, CA visiting with family, he said the grandkids are off from school there, but they don’t call it “Columbus Day” but “Indignant People’s Day” or some such phrase.

Columbus is a human hero.

He saw the unknown and tackled it with little more than 3 boats barely the size of pleasure craft, and no way of knowing if he would live to finish.

While on the other side of the pond the Aztecs and Inca were engaging in human sacrifice, and avoiding usage of the wheel.

I celebrated it with my students today. I also brought up the topic of the dangers of “revised history.”

Was it a good or bad thing?!? They didn’t even have the wheel figured out as a means of transportation. Bringing civilization to a savage land is always a good thing.

Good grief ... if not Columbus, someone would have eventually settled on this side of the pond. Many tried before him and others came after him. Can’t blame him for western civilization coming this way.

I agree- it was a good thing by my standard, but more importantly it was in the Sovereign purpose of God-

Very true. They also liked to have human sacrifices.

But that is all down the memory hole now.

Exactly. The Euros back then (unlike the spineless, socialist weasels they are now) were risk-takers and adventurers. Someone eventually would have stumbled upon the New World and thank God it wasn’t a Muzzie.

Hell yes it was a positive thing. I am glad I don’t rip the hearts out of my neighbors while they are alive, don’t live in a tee pee, don’t have any knowledge of a wheel, don’t kill endangered birds so as to have some feathers in my bonnet, don’t run thousands of buffalo off cliffs so as to have a hamburger and leave the rest to rot, don’t have slaves, don’t settle for a while in one place & screw it up then move on, don’t worship eagles etc, don’t wander this great country in a stupor, don’t wear wacky buckskin clothes, don’t say “cowabunga” or “keemosabi”, don’t have any knowledge of science and fact, live essentially like I have for thousands of years without advancing and don’t drive a car (let alone know what one is). Native Americans were total fail losers who got kicked out of Asia for being retarded or something. The arrival of Europeans saved the native Americans from their own backwardness and stupidity. Hey...I guess I’m not being too PC.

Is it this flag?

That's the one. The "F" & "Y" are for King Ferdinand and Queen (Y)Isabella.
