Virgin Mary appears to Caqueta soldiers
Colombia News ^

Posted on 10/15/2010 6:50:00 PM PDT by Gamecock

The military garrison in San Vicente del Caguan, in the southern department of Caqueta, has been blessed by a Marian apparition, according to soldiers in the area.

In an interview with Caracol TV, one soldier said, "The truth is that she was a marvelous surprise. I realized it was her, without a doubt, because no painter exists here that could make an image as marvelous as her."

The "divine manifestation" was seen in the window pane of a building housing a battalion of soldiers.

The vision has created a fervor among Catholics who have come to see the Virgin and hold religious ceremonies.

The commander of the battalion, Wilson Camargo, considered the appearance a positive sign, "This is a blessing of God and the Virgin, and a blessing of all the work my men do day after day, serving the community."

The colonel has ordered that the window never be touched.

I find it curious Catholics never see such images of Christ, the Apostles, or other such people from the Bible.

If they don’t see images of dead Popes, does that mean they weren’t holy?

I find it curious Catholics never see such images of Christ, the Apostles, or other such people from the Bible.

People are constantly finding images of Jesus and others in things like grilled cheeze sandwiches and pancakes and such. I'm not sure their religious affiliation, but they seem more interested in selling them...

Besides, who'd know Abraham or Moses from the zigzag guy, or the Apostle Paul, or any other such people if they saw them?

Francis of Assisi, Catherine of Sienna, Teresa of Avila, Maria Faustina Kowalska, Agnes of Montepulciano, Anne Catherine Emmerich, Therese of Lisieux, Margaret Mary Alacoque, Pius XII, Padre Pio, Mary Angelica, et al would disagree.

‘Cause I’m on Free Republic.

Truncated version of: "Cause I’m on Free Republic where I can flaunt my ignorance and anti-Catholic bigotry."

There have been many apparitions of Jesus—I am talking about reliable incidents such as the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and St. Teresa of Avila. Joan of Arc saw St. Margaret and the Archangel Michael, among others.

In the apparition at Knock, John the Baptist and several other individuals appeared, besides Mary.

I am not talking about “apparitions” caused by rust stains, water spots, etc.

I really do appreciate the coven of Catholics.

Their vitriolic posts speak more about the evil nature of Catholicism than anything I can post!
