My dream is to teach in a university someday in a formerly Muslim nation. Islam could, in God's providence, lose its credibility as fast as Soviet Communism did. May we be ready when it does!

BTW -- run, don't walk, to your library and check out the Iranian movie The Color of Paradise. It is an unforgettable meditation on what the generations owe each other, and how a venal, corrupt older generation tries in vain to "wash its hands" of the guilt it lives with. Take note, in particular, of which two characters are permitted to "see" the face of God.

Christianity is a reamarkably liberal religion.

Knowing that God knows what is in your heart, is pretty strict, remarkably liberal religions let you be who ever, or whatever you want as long as you perform some ceremonial actions every day.

We can hope that conversions are sincere. Certainly the Spirit moves where it wills.

However, remember Spain. There were insincere conversions there by Muslims, who then proceeded to undermine the culture with Islam.

This is so cool. It is impossible to evangelize in muslim countries, it is exceedingly dangerous to be a Christian in muslim countries, and yet the people are coming to Christ.

A muslim who converts to Christianity is typically killed. Its a death sentence. There is no earthly advantage to becoming a Christian in a muslim country. Your family will turn on you and to preserve the family's honor they will be the ones who take you out into the desert to dump your body.

This is great news!

Maybe the time has come for the Hindus and the Jews to step up to the plate.

Lets take a look at what Islam has done to Iran. When it was Persia, women could go out in the streets without burkas, have jobs, be human beings and men could love them without being forced to view them as objects and themselves as lesser beings who needed them to be covered in order for them to be able to control themselves.

There is plenty of activity going on in India.

No not liberal , it’s liberating .
There is a huge difference between the two.

Cool.

Wouldn't it be great if all of the Muslims and Jews found Christ - a Christian Middle East?

Two thousand years seems long enough for all this division.

After all, that's where it all began.

I meant liberal in the sense that it’s a broad minded religion, not in the politically correct sense.

I so admire Protestant missionaries’ courage and enterprising efforts to share Christ with Moslems. Where are their Catholic brethren? I never hear about them.

I think there are a lot of different reasons they don't show up prominently in the mission field. Probably the greatest reason is they have a different view than Evangelicals on how someone is saved.

no, it's not a simple matter. In fact, it's illegal and one can be executed legally (in Saudia, Afghanistan and I think (not sure) Iran and Algeria)

In all Muslim majority countries, from Malaysia (55% Muslim) to pakistan 98%) it is against the law for a person to convert from Islam -- even if you were a Christian/hindu and converted to Islam, then tried to convert back, it would be illegal.

So these people are really putting everything on the line for their faith. God bless them!
